My career: Chemistry and Pharmacy

Why did i choose my career? Important and difficult question because it’s what i’ll be working for the rest of my life and what being very young determines your future.When i was a child i remember that i received books as a gift, toy medical kits, magnifying glass because i liked to see ant walk among other things. That’s why i wanted to be a doctor, a veterinarian or a researcher.

 In high school i’m very interested in science, biology and chemistry mainly, i remember that with my teacher we listened to scientific talks and made us do research projects, enjoyed it.After the PSU my options were biochemistry, medical technology and chemistry and pharmacy. Finally, i decided on the last one because i’m interested his labord field.

Studying chemistry and pharmacy at the University of Chile has been a difficult process, a lot to study, and difficult subjects, but my motivation is to help people.I enjoy when, for example, my grandparents ask about a medication because usually the doctors do not explain how the medication works, they only prescribe, so i teach them the precautions and recommendations, among other things.

In the future I would like to work in laboratories, or in clinical pharmacy directly helping people, is my dream job.

    What a nice detail to explain to your grandparents how the drug works. It's good that future professionals have that vocation.

    I share your opinion, this is a difficult process, but we have to go on with the same conviction we had when we started.

    I agree with you that it has been a difficult process, specially studying online, but it is good that despite this you know that chemistry and pharmacy is your dream job.

  I'm still trying to graduate from undergraduate so postgraduate studies sounds like something far away, however i do not exclude the possibility to continue studying, in fact i would love to. My main reasons to continue graduate studies are many, i think that there will always be new and unique things to learn about each area, especially in health, therefore we have a responsibility to provide new knowledge and that is achieved by being specialists in the subject we want. Many topics come to my attention, if I think of a specialty i love clinical pharmacy or forensic chemistry, now if i think of a doctorate i would love pharmacology, biochemistry or pharmaceutical sciences. I don't know very well how the topic of postgraduate studies works, I haven't researched about it, but i know that Chile is well positioned in the scientific area around the world, with good professionals and good research (even when there is no money to finance projects) so it is a good country to co...

Where to travel? Denmark!

Hi! my name is Javiera  and if you ask me which country would you like to go to? I don't know what to say, because many places come to my mind, however i would like to travel and live in Denmark. I am in love with the landscapes, their villages and the way people live. Did you know that it is the happiest country in the world?  I  need that  lif e . The fundamental idea of Danish culture is that of the "hygge" . This word refers to a feeling of comfort and well being for the simple things in life. My future job

  I would like to have a job where i can learn new things every day, it's a good idea to learn more about a profession like pharmacy. The truth is that i would like to work in many areas, calls my attention laboratories, clinical pharmacy and hospital pharmacy. I would enjoy working in a quiet area, doing more methodical and theoretical work. I don't know if my career would allow me to travel constantly but if i had the opportunity i would, i have no problem with traveling for a job to the far south or the far north of the country and who knows outside the country. This year i did my intermediate practice, my plan was to do it in the Talca Hospital because i am from there but i could not because i was required to talk to many people, send emails and they never answered me. I understood then that it was a very difficult area to access but not impossible.  The truth is that i do not know the salary of this area specifically, only by comments i have heard that i could live com...
